2008 New Zealand Trip

Lake Rotorua

Lake Rotorua

The second stop of our trip was Lake Rotorua where the pistol match was held. Besides shooting, we were able to enjoy beautiful Lake Rotorua every evening after the match. The weather was great during our stay.

While Eddie and I was shooting, Emma spent the day at the thermal area Rotorua is known for.

The Rotorua Bathhouse
The Tudor-style Rotorua bathhouse, opened in 1908,
was a symbol of the government’s ambition to create
a great South Seas spa. It was designed to attract
visitors from New Zealand and overseas.

The imposing façade of the building was matched by a luxurious interior, furnished with marble sculptures, magnificent porcelain baths and plush couches.
Outside there were beautifully kept gardens, a band
rotunda, bowling and croquet greens, and tennis courts.

The famous Zorb orignated here in New Zealand.
Climb into this air-filled bubble and roll down
the mountain...

Emma stopped for a nice, hot foot bath
in volcanic water.

This duck had the yellowest eyes I've ever seen.
Funny bird. Had to trick it with food to get this
shot of it.

Wallabees, funny mini kangaroos are considered
a pest in New Zealand. Hard to imagine, but after
a while they started to look like big rats..
All in the Perception

The famous Kiwi bird. Almost extinct

The duck playing with his friends, the fish.

The match organizers had also a paintball game
scheduled for the adventures few.
